ASH wanted to host a banquet that was outside of a normal hotel meeting venue, so AV Concepts was there to help make a little Midway Magic. The latter term is a historical fact. It was known throughout the Navy for the USS Midway, as it steamed through a 47-year career of service to country. The carrier was commissioned in 1945 and served as a flagship in Desert Storm in 1991. No other carrier served as long as the USS Midway. Providing audio, video, and lighting onboard, AV Concepts designed two 9-point spandex panels on truss frame set pieces to accommodate the show coordinators' request for a unique look for the unusual historic venue. "The banquet went off without a hitch; it was perfect!" said Rebekah Snell, senior marketing operations coordinator for ASH. AV Concepts supplied two Christie LX-100 10K Data Projectors, and two 4.6-6.0:1 Christie LX-100 Zooms, along with a Presentation Pro Switcher for the event video, as well as an array of EAW KF 300 speakers for audio and GOBO lighting.
