Amy Parks Named Operations Manager at Northern Sound & Light

Northern Sound & Light (NSL), a professional audio and lighting products dealer here, has promoted Amy Parks to the position of operations manager.

Parks, who has been with the company almost four years and most recently held an administrative assistance role, brings an intimate understanding of the company's functions and responsibilities to customers and vendors to her new oversight role.

"Information on every part of our operation will funnel through Amy and onto me as needed," says company president and founder Steve Raslevich. "That strengthens us because she's been exposed to all elements of our business, from shipping and receiving to vendor and customer relations to sales and purchasing. Just as important, Amy is a proven communicator who knows how to get things done."

Parks has learned the professional audio and lighting supply business from the ground up. She joined Northern Sound in 2006 after five years as a bank assistant branch manager. In 2007 she became an administrative assistant to Raslevich.

Parks says her deep understanding of Northern Sound's business and an ability to step into multiple roles as needed is representative of the qualities of all of the company's employees.

"Many of our associates are able to handle multiple functions proficiently, and that means the customer is the real winner," she says. "We all work as a team to help our customers and give them the information and support they need."

As she steps into her new role, Parks says she's focused on implementing a renewed focus on streamlining operations and ensuring staff members have the knowledge and training needed to deliver superior customer service. ""We're doing very well, but we have to keep up the pace by being on top of industry trends, listening carefully to our customers and having all of the products and services that are in demand," she says.
