Gordon Mann Joins Northern Sound & Light's Sales Team Northern Sound & Light (NSL), an audio and lighting products dealer here, has added to its staff with the addition of Gordon Mann. Mann, who holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in sound recording and multimedia management from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, and has studio, staging and musical performance experience, joins a team committed to meeting the exacting professional needs of its customers. NSL president and founder Steve Raslevich says Mann will be a strong addition to our sales and support staff. His relevant knowledge and experience, combined with his performance in a prior role as an order filler and product inspector in NSL's warehouse prompted the swift promotion. "Gordon's solid musical background and his practical understanding of our product line and the needs of our customers, combined with the fact that he regularly showed a readiness to help walk-in customers, convinced me it was time to move him into this important role at NSL," he says. As a senior sales representative, Mann fields incoming phone and e-mail requests for product information and pricing, walks customers through the product selection process and mobilizes and matches sales staff expertise to handle inquiries demanding special knowledge. Mann says he's eager to further contribute to NSL's single-minded focus on customer service. "Because we're not commission-based, we can really focus on helping the customer, not just making the sale," Mann says. "This new role really meshes with my desire to help customers put all of the great toys we sell to use doing what we're all ultimately in business for: entertaining people."
