Sachs Morgan Studio receives IALD 2007 Award of Merit

Sachs Morgan Studio's architectural lighting design for Temple Emanu-El's restoration recently received honors at the 24th Annual IALD Awards. The presentation was held in New York City in conjunction with Lightfair International. The International Association of Lighting Designers presented Sachs Morgan Studio with an Award of Merit for the use of modern technology to light the historic synagogue.

The Sachs Morgan Studio design team included Roger Morgan and Steve Rust, whose charge was to increase lighting levels without the addition of visible fixtures. The result dramatically reveals the chapel's exquisite polychrome Lombardian ceiling and Gustavino tiled walls.

Temple Emanu-El is a New York historic landmark building.

Sachs Morgan Studio worked closely with the Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners on the project.
