Hemsley Portfolio Review Exhibit and Reception to be held April 1st at Lincoln CenterThe Hemsley Lighting Programs and media partner Lighting&Sound America will be hosting the 3rd annual Hemsley Portfolio Review Young Designers Exhibit and Reception to be held on April 1, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Rose Building, Lincoln Center. This exhibit and reception is open to the public who are invited to join the design community in viewing the work of graduating lighting students from across the country. Earlier, the students will have participated in a daylong review, consisting of multiple opportunities for showing their individual portfolios to small panels of leading professional designers and directors. Micro-seminars will also be held on topics ranging from repertory paperwork, website design, and new console development, to contract and legal issues facing designers. For 24 years, the Hemsley Lighting Programs have honored the life and legacy of Gilbert Hemsley, who was dedicated to the training of young theatre professionals. These programs continue this legacy by offering unique experiences to young designers through internships, master classes, seminars, and portfolio reviews. Please RSVP by March 26th to Mark Stanley, resident lighting designer, mstanley@nycballet.com.
