Hippotizer Celebrates Singapore's 45th Birthday

Green Hippo Hippotizer media servers played a part in making this year's Singapore National Day Parade (NDP) a memorable video projection experience. Images from four Hippotizer V3 HD machines projected onto Singapore City Hall turned the building into a virtual canvas. The custom video content supplied by Glorious Pte Ltd of Singapore provided a vivid panorama of Singapore history.

The architectural video projection was the first of its kind in Singapore. Seamless integration of multiple outputs to multiple Christie Roadster HD18K projectors was achieved using Green Hippo's Virtual Media Manager and UberPan software. Automatically compensating for blend overlaps, Virtual Media Manager automatically "cut" a single piece of ultra-high resolution content into three sections. The content was then distributed to three separate outputs, and reintegrated via UberPan for a seamless 295' x 36' display. Heavy use was also made of Hippotizer's keystone and 3D warp functions, which gave visual fidelity to the imagery, in spite of the complex surfaces of the City Hall.

The Hippotizers, provided by Broadcast Professional Ltd of Singapore, were perfect for this application: multiple outputs, multiple projectors, gigantic displays. Hippotizer is called the 'everything box' for good reason. The tech support we received from Broadcast Pro, Green Hippo, and TMB was timely, extremely helpful and most appreciated.
