Meyer Sound to Host Live Listening Sessions of MINA and Constellation at NAMM; Bob Weir as Featured Speaker

For its first formal participation at the NAMM Show in more than a decade, Meyer Sound has announced a full slate of product demonstrations at Demo Room 212B at the Anaheim Convention Center. Live musicians will give curious visitors a taste of the Constellation acoustic system and its ability to alter the acoustical properties of a performance venue. Special guest Bob Weir (formerly of the Grateful Dead) will add his perspective on the Constellation system recently installed at his personal recording facility. Visitors will also hear the MINA line array loudspeaker, which, the company says, packs an impressive sonic fidelity and power into a compact enclosure.

NAMM attendees will experience firsthand Constellation's ability to transform the acoustical characteristics of multipurpose venues and recreate the acoustics of a small recital hall, a massive cathedral, and everything in between. Meyer Sound's new D-Mitri digital audio platform will be shown in action serving as the backbone for the Constellation system. While traditionally installed in performance venues, Constellation provided an electronic orchestra shell for the Star Wars: In Concert tour, allowing musicians to properly hear each other despite the large arena setting. Constellation was also recently installed in the personal recording facility, TRI, for Weir, who will be speaking about his new state-of-the-art facility on Thursday, January 13 at 4:00 pm and Friday, January 14 at 2:00 pm in the Meyer Sound demo room.

The Mina line array loudspeaker brings the sonic benefits of Meyer Sound's MILO family line array loudspeakers to smaller ballrooms, theatres, and worship spaces. Mina was recently installed at the Tupelo Music Hall in White River Junction, Vermont, where owner Scott Hayward said the astonishing detail of Mina gives the feeling "like being on the stage no matter where you are in the room."

Mina measures barely more than 20" wide and weighs only 47lbs yet delivers 128dB SPL (@ 1 m) over an operating frequency range of 70Hz to 18kHz. At NAMM, Mina will be heard with its companion 500-HP subwoofer.

For the TEC Awards gala on January 14, longtime supporter Meyer Sound will once again provide sound reinforcement as a Platinum Sponsor. Featuring the Mina line array loudspeaker, JM-1P arrayable loudspeaker, and the 500-HP subwoofer, the system will be supplied by Santa Barbara-based Luners Pro Sound.
