Texas Scenic Company Installs Inline Rigging at Florida State University

Texas Scenic Company (TSC) is completing a stage rigging upgrade at the Ruby Diamond Auditorium at Florida State University. For this project, GRC Architects and Theatre Consultant Collaborative were given the primary goals of improving the acoustical quality of the auditorium and raising the level of seating space to that of a performance hall. The auditorium is located in Westcott Hall, FSU's signature building. The general contractor on the project is LLT Building Corporation.

Major changes to the auditorium include an enlarged proscenium opening, curved wall surfaces, and the addition of parterre seating, side boxes, and elegant architectural detailing. TSC manufactured and installed 57 sets of Inline J-Bar Rigging, two speaker hoists using Inline line shaft hoists, three chandelier hoists using Inline drum and block hoists and Inline acoustical curtains.

TSC also installed a Gala stage lift, four Wenger ceiling shells and 10 side towers. The ETC dimming system provided included three Sensor 48 racks, two Sensor sine wave racks, full networking and an Ion 1500 control console.

Texas Scenic Company celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
