Nominations for the 10th Annual Knight of Illumination Awards Will Close on June 30

The closing date for nominations for the 10th annual Knight of Illumination (KOI) Awards is now only one week away. Nominations for the prestigious awards event will close on June 30, 2017, with short lists for the event's three main categories to be announced in July.

The KOI Awards recognizes and praises the creative talents of international digital content and lighting designers who have delivered spectacular shows within the United Kingdom.

This 10th anniversary year, KOI has received an incredible number of nominations across the Awards' Television and Concert Touring & Events categories. Judges are looking forward to reviewing this year's nominations at deliberation day, which will be held at experiential design company, Imagination's central London headquarters, where KOI judge Jonny Milmer is head of lighting design.

Jess Allan, new chairperson for the Concert Touring & Events category for 2017 says: "Knight of Illumination is special because it focuses solely on design; it highlights the achievements of our hugely talented designers both to our industry and also for the world outside, which is very important."

Headline sponsors of the 10th Knight of Illumination Awards are Osram and Claypaky. Spotlights sponsors have been announced as ADB, Altman Lighting, Avolites, d3 Technologies, ETC, GLP, Green Hippo, Hawthorn, HSL, Light Initiative, MA Lighting, Philips Vari-Lite, PRG XL Video, Robert Juliat, and SLX. Hawthorn is once again technical supplier for KOI 2017.

Submissions will remain open for both the Television and Concert Touring & Events categories until 11pm on Friday June 30.

Shows performed in the UK between July 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017 are eligible for entry. Knight of Illumination Awards would like to encourage designers to self-nominate. Nominations can be submitted at the Knight of Illumination website. http://www.knight-of-illumination.com/

This year's Knight of Illumination ceremony will take place at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith on September 17th and will be hosted by internationally renowned production manager, Ola Melzig.
