The University/Resident Theatre Association (U/RTA) is the largest consortium of professional, graduate theatre programs and partnered professional theatres in the country. U/RTA serves as the link between professional training and performing arts and entertainment world. The annual U/RTA National Unified Auditions/Interviews (NUA/Is) help candidates seeking placement in many of the nation's leading professional graduate (MFA) training programs in all fields of theatre. The U/RTA Contract Management Program (CMP) is the largest, not-for-profit contract service of its kind in the country, making it possible for organizations to employ professional theatre artists.
The URTA National Showcase Calendar, launched in January 2010, provides a central location for schools to list their showcases (BFA and MFA) conducted in New York City, Chicago and/or LA. A tool to help schools avoid conflicts in performances, and for casting directors and others to get an overview of the upcoming spring, showcase season. Designer Seminars added to the NUA/Is. Totally unique chance for design/technology MFA candidates to learn about free technology available to use in buidling/presenting digital portfolios, and related digital meeting services like Skype. Learn, even while pursuing placement in an MFA.
