Altinex Introduces DIGI Sniffer Digital Video Signal Detector / Tester Altinex has introduced the DIGI Sniffer digital video signal detector / tester. A tool for AV consultants and integrators, it is designed for measuring digital video signal strength, is compatible with HDMI, DVI, and Display Port signal types and accommodates any signal resolution. The product features a six-LED bar graph that shows the strength of the video signal connected to the device. It also monitors the digital video signal and determines the degradation level. The stronger a signal is, the more illuminated LEDs there are. The DIGI Sniffer works with both HDCP (high-bandwidth digital content protection) and non-HDCP signals. Designed to conveniently fit in one's pocket, the DIGI Sniffer features auto power control (shut-off) and will only turn on when touched from both sides -- ensuring extended battery life. The unit engages when one's thumb and index finger make contact with the metal stud on each side of the unit. By simply connecting the HDMI cable to the unit, the on-board LEDs will then display signal strength.
