Green Light Event Design Acquires GDS LiteWare Satellite Fixtures from A.C.T Lighting

Green Light Event Design, a Seattle-based eco-friendly event lighting solutions and rental company, has taken delivery of a complement of GDS LiteWare Satellite fixtures. A.C.T Lighting distributes GDS (Global Design Solutions Ltd) products in North America.

Launched at PLASA last fall, LiteWare Satellite is a wireless, battery-operated LED fitting with an extendable, fully-adjustable head with 360 degree pan and 180 degree tilt. The fitting can be instantly modified with the use of an internally-wired pole that extends to elevations between 1.7m and 2.6m. The poles feature a weatherproof, quick-lock mechanism to insure maximum speed of deployment, the company says. LiteWare Satellite is available in RGB, warm white, or cool white options with accessories that include a metal floor plate for stabilizing the unit in full extension mode.

"We have an extensive inventory of LEDs and noticed that there's nothing on the market quite like LiteWare Satellite," says Green Light president, Brian Waltz. "We don't plan to use the fixture as a traditional uplighter but more as a pole extension. We like the ability of the pole extension to rapidly adjust light and illuminate everything from ceilings to tents to a chuppahs. We're impressed by its portability, clean look, and the extension pole, which can replace a 50lb. base and steel pole. And with battery operation there's no need for electricity."

Green Light's first gig for the LiteWare Satellites was a wedding where the fixtures were used for a cake wash and dance floor flooding and to discretely light the ceiling arch in the reception space. "They performed great," Waltz reports. "The battery life was great, too. And we could incorporate them into our wireless DMX system."
