ITEAC 2018 Announces Keynote Speaker -- Mark Rylance

The editorial board of the fast approaching International Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (ITEAC) announces actor Mark Rylance as their latest keynote speaker.

A brilliant award-winning stage and screen career places him at the forefront of his generation and the editorial board for ITEAC 2018 is very pleased to have been able to accommodate Rylance within his professional commitments. It was felt to be of the highest priority to ensure that the voice of an actor of such experience and considered opinion should be heard at an event that seeks to be seminal for both the leading and the emerging talents working in the design and specification of places of entertainment.

Named in Time Magazine's 2016 100 Most Influential People List, Rylance's work includes a 10-year tenure as the first artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre (1996-2006), which included the construction of the Theatre and International Shakespeare Globe Centre. He founded the organization's Architectural Review Group, which is at present reviewing the architectural decisions of 1996-97 in the light of twenty years' experience of playing at the Globe.

In January of this year it was announced that he would return to the Globe Theatre stage in July 2018, to play Iago in Shakespeare's Othello.

Mark Rylance was Knighted in 2017 for Services to Theatre.

This week it was also announced that Unusual Rigging Ltd. has become a global sponsor of ITEAC 2018. Its generous support is testament to the success of the 35-year-old company, which provides worldwide technical solutions through bespoke engineering and rigging principally for the entertainment, special event, exhibition, and presentation industries.

Based in Northampton, UK, their premises cover 4.75 acres, housing offices, warehouse, and manufacturing facilities, with the capacity to support concurrent major international projects and small regional projects with equal dedication.

Alongside rigging and stage engineering, the company's services also include hires, maintenance and inspections, permanent installations, design and consultancy, and automation services.
