InLight Gobos Celebrates 15th Year Anniversary

As the developer of the first laser-ablated gobo in 1994, founder and president Rick Hutton of InLight Gobos, is celebrating the 15th year since his company launched in August of 2002. Hutton had always wanted to be part of the industry and started out doing light and sound for local bands. This was followed by tours with Journey, Van Halen, The Thompson Twins as a road tech and then eventually becoming the lighting designer for Eric Clapton.

In 1994, Hutton received a Prime Time Emmy award for engineering development for the Vari-Lite VL5. After leaving Vari-Lite in 1998, Michael Tannemyr of Beacon AB approached Hutton with the opportunity to open his own gobo company in Dallas. With its Central location in Dallas and focus on creating the best colored gobos, the company has thrived. InLight Gobos also chooses to keep everything in-house as opposed to going through dealers. This has helped them maintain closer and more direct contact with their client base.

Hutton says: "I am humbled and honored to work with so many outstanding people in this industry. It is because of all our clients that we have made it to this 15-year milestone and reflecting back to the beginning, It has had its moments, headaches, and disappointments but it has had way more fulfilling, rewarding and glorious moments that will stay with me forever! I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone that has made InLight Gobos possible!"

In recognition of its 15th year milestone, InLight Gobos is offering 15% off all orders through the month of August.
