Bandit Lites Nominated for Pollstar 2022 Award

"Bandit was enormously proud to start 2021 by illuminating the Field of Flags at the Presidential Inauguration for our friends C3 Presents and designer Chris Lisle," says Michael T. Strickland.

Bandit Lites has been nominated for Best Concert Visuals at the 33rd Annual Pollstar 2022 Awards. The awards will return to their original format February 2022 at the Beverly Hilton and honor "the artists, executives, and road warriors who led the concert industry over the past year out of the dark and back onto stages worldwide."

Bandit Lites founder and chair, Michael T. Strickland, was one of those executives leading that charge out of the darkness. He was recently honored at Pollstar Live as a "Heroes of Live" due to his activism on behalf of the live events industry. In addition to testifying before the Senate, he worked to pass the CARES Act, enhanced unemployment and PPP funding, Save Our Stages, and the Shuttered Venue Operator Grants. He is currently working on The MUSIC Act for those left behind by SVOG.

"Bandit was enormously proud to start 2021 by illuminating the Field of Flags at the Presidential Inauguration for our friends C3 Presents and designer Chris Lisle," says Strickland. "The first tour out in the US was long time client Toby Keith with designers Seth Jackson and Nate Alves. Jimmy Buffett was right on his heels with his annual tour of Margaritaville, courtesy of designer Chaz Martin. The first stadium tour in the world was Garth Brooks with designer Dave Butzler."

"Bandit was so immensely proud to be leading the return to live," continues Strickland. "After that, the floodgates opened, and Bandit returned to capacity by August. Alanis Morrisette hit the road with a stunning visual array courtesy of designer Nate Cromwell. The demand for live was over the top, with the first major festival, Lollapalooza, as another Bandit production. We shared the excitement and good times with everyone in the industry as we all got back to what we love: LIVE SHOWS. It was great to be back."

Pollstar subscribers can vote via email through 5pm PST on December 10, 2021.
