Bandit Illuminates Electric Forest Festival

Electric Forest Festival with Bandit Lites

In a scene ripped straight from a fairytale or science fiction novel, 30,000 music fans found themselves streaming through Sherwood Forest while psychedelic lights guided their way to the Electric Forest Festival, only to have their travels rewarded with amazing musical performances and incredible lighting.

Co-produced by Insomniac Events and Madison House, the fourth annual Electric Forest Festival was held June 27 - 29 and featured music from legendary jam bands, rock bands, electronica, and DJs. The weekend event at Double JJ Ranch featured access to a water park, yoga sessions, impromptu jam sessions, art installations, firework shows, fantastic lighting in the forest, and night after night of amazing music.

Musical acts for this year's event included shows from The String Cheese Incident, Steve Angello, Umphrey's McGee, STS9, Moby, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Zedd, and Matt & Kim.

Bandit Lites provided the lighting for the Sherwood Stage designed by Travis Shirley. Gear included Martin Mac III Profiles, Mac 2000 washes, Bandit 5x5s, Clay Paky Sharpys, GRN Battens, GRN Par 64s, Robe 100 LEDs, and Martin Atomic 3000 strobes. All controlled by two MA Lighting grandMA2 full size consoles.

The Bandit crew was chiefed by Sam Morgan and comprised of Patrick Cowden, Chelsea Parker, and Phillip Stroud, with both Matt King and Shawn Lear providing support as project managers.
