Royer Labs R-10 "Hot Rod" Ribbon Microphone Gets TEC Award Nomination

The R-10 "Hot Rod" is available now.

Royer Labs announces its R-10 "Hot Rod" ribbon microphone, designed for use both in the studio and on live stages, has been nominated for a TEC Award during the upcoming NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA. The nomination is in the category Microphones - Recording. The R-10 "Hot Rod" is fitted with a custom transformer, has 5dB hotter output than the standard R-10 with a punchier, more open sound characteristic, and comes with a trim package that sets it apart from the standard R-10.

The Royer R-10 Hot Rod handles extremely high SPLs (160dB @ 1kHz), has an internally shock-mounted ribbon transducer and 3-layer wind screen system that combine to give the ribbon element excellent protection (making it their best choice for live work, the company says), features lowered proximity effect that make it an excellent choice for close miking instruments and singers, and carries a 5-year warranty with the first re-ribbon free. Like all Royer microphones, the R-10 is hand-built in Royer's Burbank, CA facility.

John Jennings, Royer Labs' vice president of sales and marketing, comments on the R-10's TEC Award nomination, "The R-10 "Hot Rod" was designed to be a one-year 2023 Royer 25th Anniversary model, but the reaction in the market was quite strong, then we got the news it was nominated for a TEC Award! It's an excellent microphone, and the TEC Awards nod made us reconsider its anniversary-only status. We're excited to announce the R-10 Hot Rod is now a permanent addition to the lineup of our world class ribbon microphones."

The R-10 "Hot Rod" is available now. To learn more about the Royer R-10 "Hot Rod" ribbon microphone, visit royerlabs.com/r-10-hot-rod or call Royer Labs at 818-847-0121.
