Six technical theatre professionals were elected to USITT's Board of Directors in online voting this month. Two board members were re-elected and four new members won seats on USITT's 29-member board for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2016.

The board oversees leadership of USITT, the national non-profit for performing arts design and technology professionals.

The new directors are:

Jim Streeter, production manager at Princeton University's Frist Campus Center and Performance Theatre.

Tina Shackleford, professor of stage management and production at Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.

David S. Stewart, production director at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.

Carey Hanson, associate professor of Costume Design at the University of Mississippi.

Re-elected to their second three-year terms are:

Kim Scott, company manager, Cirque du Soleil, CRISS Angel BeLIEve and The Beatles LOVE.

Paul Brunner, associate professor, technical director, and head of the MFA Theatre Technology Program at Indiana University's Department of Theatre, Drama, and Contemporary Dance.

From March 16-19, USITT bring its Annual Conference & Stage Expo to Salt Lake City for the first time. The four-day show is expected to draw 5,000 members of the backstage community for four days of workshops, presentations, celebrations, and demonstrations of the latest technology for producing live entertainment.
