BSR E1.19 Is Available for Public Review

BSR E1.19 - 201x is a revision of the existing American National Standard, Recommended Practice for the Use of Class A Ground-Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) Intended for Personnel Protection in the Entertainment Industry. It is available for public review through September 29, 2014 at http://plasa.me/4xvjf.

The E1.19 standard offers guidance, in accordance with existing applicable standards, on how to select, install, use, and maintain ground-fault protection devices with nominal 5mA trip settings in the entertainment industry. The purpose of their use would be to protect persons from shock and persons and property from fire. The revision to the existing standard is being done to incorporate new information about avoiding nuisance tripping.

For more information, please contact: Karl G Ruling, PLASA technical standards manager, 630 Ninth Avenue, Suite 609, New York, New York 10036 USA; phone: 1-212-244-1505; or via email at standards.na@plasa.org.
