Donate to Behind the Scenes When You Register for LDI 2012

LDIM has announced that direct donations can be made to Behind the Scenes on the LDI2012 website. There are three donation amounts right on the LDI registration page, in order to make the process as easy as possible. These amounts are $15, $25, and $50. "Nevada laws prevent us from hosting a raffle in Las Vegas as we have done for Behind the Scenes in past years at events in New York City and Orlando," reports LDI show director Zari Stahl. "This seems liked a logical way for LDI attendees to easily support this worthwhile charity at the same time they register for the show." Donations made when you register for LDI go directly to Behind the Scenes and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Rick Rudolph, chair of the Behind the Scenes committee, commented, "We have been struggling with how to replace the income from the loss of the raffle this year, as those funds are very important to our ability to continue making grants to our colleagues in need. LDI's suggestion to allow people to make donations while registering for the show was very welcome and underscores their longstanding commitment to Behind the Scenes since its inception. We are very grateful to everyone at LDI and Penton Media."

Once you're at the show, be sure to stop by the Behind the Scenes booth #2041 and shop the BTS Boutique featuring the new Behind the Scenes USB ghostlight, the perfect accessory for your laptop, and lighting or audio console. You'll also find holiday cards, note cards, ties, earrings, polos, tanks, and a special sale on t-shirts.

Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured. Grants may be used for medical expenses or basic living expenses. Funds are available to anyone who has worked at least five years full time in the industry, whether behind the curtain or behind the camera, or for one of the companies who manufacture or supply products and services to the industry. Behind the Scenes brings help and hope in times of crises. Individuals or companies can also support Behind the Scenes by making donations online at the URL below or by calling 212-244-1421.
