Sir Paul McCartney and Production Team Create Innovative New Stage Set for One on One Tour

With over a decade long relationship, Sir Paul McCartney, once again, commissioned TAIT Towers, the company that supplies live staging equipment and scenic design for 19 of the top 20 highest grossing artists world tours including The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, U2, and many more, to build a one of a kind stage and scenic set for his One on One tour. On Wednesday, McCartney performed a high-energy, high impact show, displaying a repertoire of his music catalog supported by electrifying video animation, a moving stage and an array of various still photos.

Since McCartney's compelling Super Bowl XXXIX performance in 2005 where TAIT provided its artistic talent and staging experience, the two have worked closely together to continue executing the best audience experiences. Likewise, for the One on One tour, TAIT worked closely with the leaders of the pack and geniuses behind the design, McCartney's production manager and production designer, Mark Spring and LeRoy Bennett, respectively, to fashion an unforgettable crowd experience.

To do so, TAIT brought a fresh design to the One on One arena tour by implementing TAIT's technology software automation platform, TAIT Navigator. The automation platform controls all of the moving pieces including lighting. In addition, TAIT provided an entire staging and software automation packages which include 42 NavHoists and new, custom stage lights. The main stage design also includes lighting frames for upstaging lights, Mag-Decks for the stage, and a downstage lift clad with TV panels displaying continuous, dynamic LED video content.

In creating a more immersive audience experience, McCartney is elevated via the downstage lift during the show, raising him 16' into the air, providing different visual levels to the audience.

The One on One Tour was officially announced to the public on March 9. TAIT's production of the stage began in February and was completed on time for rehearsals beginning on March 29, 2016.

McCartney will be touring throughout North America and Europe beginning on April 13, 2016 at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.
