Sweetwater Joins Creative Technology Group to Launch Film/Entertainment Division

Creative Technology Group (CT) and NEP Sweetwater (Sweetwater), both part of parent company NEP Group, announce the launch of CT Film & Entertainment. This new division, operating under the Creative Technology brand, unites Sweetwater's leadership and industry expertise with Creative Technology's international platform.

In a statement, Creative Technology says, "Together, the united team at CT Film & Entertainment will deliver unprecedented technological support to film and television productions of all sizes, anywhere in the world. This move also supports the expansion of the company's service offerings, from video display to now encompassing video, lighting, audio, RF, rigging, and more."

"This is the world we have been wanting to compete in," says Ron Drews, president of NEP Sweetwater. "With so many productions going international, this gives us the opportunity to provide the same level of service in Ireland, Dubai, China, Holland. and far beyond, as we do here in the United States."

With over 40 offices across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, CT Film & Entertainment will be built for scale. Expanded technology offerings will include lighting, audio, and rigging. "Not only do we have access to more locations, but we also have an expanded inventory providing us with opportunities we have not enjoyed in the past," Drews says.

"I've known Ron for over 29 years. We worked together when we were first starting out, so for our companies to join forces now is incredible," says Herb Brandt, president, Creative Technology Group US. "We will be stronger together, never losing sight of where we came from. This move strengthens both brands and allows us to offer even more to our film and entertainment clients. Joining forces isn't just growth -- it's a sign of respect for the journey we've shared over all these years."

The statement adds, "With a track record supporting large-scale productions from The Voice and American Idol to The Grammys and the Golden Globes, and as pioneers of LED volume workflows and in-camera visual effects for films like Superman and Solo: A Star Wars Story, the CT Film & Entertainment team will continue to push the boundaries of modern production."

The Sweetwater brand will officially transition to the Creative Technology Group and CT Film & Entertainment brand on January 1.
