Midas XL8, PRO2, and PRO6 Work the Netherlands' Votown Allstars Fundraising ConcertThe popular Votown Allstars has held another concert in the Netherlands to raise money for their local football club FC Volendam -- and three Midas digital consoles were on hand. As The Votown Allstars -- Jan Smit; Nick Schilder and Simon Keizer (Nick & Simon); and Jan Dulles, Jaap Kwakman, and Jaap de Witte (3JS) performed, a Midas XL8 took care of monitor duties while a Midas PRO2 and PRO6 could be found at front of house. A Klark Teknik DN9696 high resolution audio recorder was also used to provide a virtual sound check to ensure that the audio was clean and intelligible in every corner of the stadium. The concert, held at the Volendam Stadion, was successful and 100% of the fundraising revenues went to FC Volendam. The annual event was established when FC Volendam's main sponsor fell victim to the current economic crisis and was forced to withdraw funding. Local artists joined forces and formed the Votown Allstars in order to raise funds for the much-loved club themselves. Over the years, Volendam has spawned many talented players, such as Wim Jonk, Edwin Zoetebier, Arnold and Gerrie Mühren. The club also has an accomplished scouting and youth system, which spreads across many different countries. The Dutch company Triple Show Technology, which supplies professional audio, lighting, and image technology, provided all the show equipment, including the Midas consoles.
