Elite Multimedia Productions Collaborates with K-LOVE on Second Annual Fan Awards in Music City

K-LOVE Fan Awards

May 30 through June 1, K-LOVE and Elite Multimedia Productions (EMP) turned the Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House and other areas of Opryland Resort into one large production in celebration of Christian music and its fans.

The second annual K-LOVE Fan Awards was held at the Opry, this year adding more venues and events to the fan-centered weekend. Listeners and lovers of K-LOVE, the nation's largest Christian music radio network, had the opportunity to participate in the K-LOVE Fan Zone. In addition to activities such as a tour of Jeremy Camp's tour bus, celebrity basketball game and meet and greets with artists, participants were also able to enjoy up-and-coming Christian artists performances. Audio, video, and lighting production was provided by EMP.

"The Fan Zone was a more affordable way to get more people into the K-LOVE Fan Awards weekend," said Steve Strout, one of the Fan Awards' executive producers. "It gave people a chance to just drive in and be a part of what we have going on. And it really became the epicenter of the fan-artist interaction."

EMP used a variety of gear to enhance the Fan Zone experience. Visuals included a FLEXCurve LED video screen created by PixelFLEX, ETC Source 4 Lekos, Chauvet Color Battens and Slim Pars, and a MA Lighting grandMA 2 Lite console. For the Fan Zone Music Stage, a Digidesign Venue SC48 was at front-of-house with Yamaha 5D monitors. A PixelFLEX FLEXCurtain LED wall, Martin Mac 700's and PixelFLEX CM12 lighting fixtures were the foundation of the visual production. The Fan Zone Experience enabled participants to interact with current and new artists in conjunction with the Fan Awards that congratulates leaders in the Christian music industry.

The K-LOVE Fan Awards culminated Sunday night with the fan-voted awards.

"For the Fan Awards we utilized industry-leading products to deliver the flexibility needed for such a fast-paced, multi-artist show including 8mm PixelFLEX FLEXCurve LED panels to create an oval LED wall, Vari-Lite 3K spots, Martin Mac 301 and 101 washes, Clay Paky Sharpys, and Elation Elar108 LED Pars," said Tom Wilson, EMP's vice president of event production and project manager for the K-LOVE weekend. "We've worked with John Sanders, LLC and Go Live Production for many years, so it was enjoyable to collaborate on a unique and impressive Fan Awards night."

Past and present EMP clients made appearances as winners and performers during the weekend. These included Casting Crowns, Chris Tomlin, Mandisa, TobyMac, Michael W. Smith, Big Daddy Weave, Steven Curtis Chapman, Tenth Avenue North, Jeremy Camp, Kutless, Sidewalk Prophets, and Matthew West.

"EMP is great performance and great attitudes," Strout said. "It's people that we love doing business with, and we know once we contract them, that we can count on it. It's going to be done, it's going to be done on a high level and it's going to be done on the level we want the event to reflect."
