PreSonus StudioLive Series III and FaderPort 8 Win MIPA AwardsIt's a family tradition! In past years, five different PreSonus StudioLive digital console models have won the prestigious Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA) in the Mixing Desk category. This year, PreSonus grabbed two 2017 MIPAs: The entire StudioLive Series III digital console/recorder line took the Mixing Desk category and the new FaderPort 8 Mix Production Controller laid claim to the Digital Workstation Controller category. The company says the PreSonus StudioLive series has been on an amazing run. The first-generation StudioLive 16.4.2 console won the 2010 MIPA, followed by the StudioLive 24.4.2 in 2011 and the StudioLive 16.0.2 in 2012 and 2013. The second-generation StudioLive 32.4.2AI earned the honors in 2014, and its sibling, the StudioLive 24.4.2AI, grabbed the trophy in 2015. This 2017 MIPA rewards major advances in PreSonus' third-generation StudioLive Series III consoles, including vintage-style processing, customizable user interface, built-in AVB and USB 2.0 recording, networked control, onboard multitrack SD Card recorder, and touch-sensitive, motorized faders. Not to be outdone, the new FaderPort 8 became the first PreSonus control surface to win a MIPA. The FaderPort 8 connects via USB 2.0 and offers eight touch-sensitive, motorized, 100mm faders and 57 buttons with 78 different functions to provide precise tactile control over the user's favorite DAW's transport, mix, and automation features. The MIPAs are selected by the editors of more than 100 magazines from all over the world.
