IABM Out in Force at NAB 2016 Supporting Members

The IABM will have its strongest presence yet at NAB 2016, offering its 400 member companies at the show a full range of support services, and also leading the discussion on the future of the media technology industry. Two key IABM-led events are the annual State of the Industry Conference on Monday, April 18, and the Game Changer Awards on Tuesday, April 19. In addition, there is the IABM NAB Advance Party on Saturday, April 16, IABM technology training sessions over the weekend, two member lounges, the IABM App providing a constant steam of news from the show, IABM.TV capturing the news, and IABM CTO, Stan Moote, is speaking on two panels as well. Members and non-members are also welcome to visit the IABM booth (N6715) to discuss their needs with the IABM team.

The IABM State of the Industry Conference (8:00 - 10:00am, April 18 -- LVCC Room N235/7) will provide a unique opportunity to take the pulse of the industry. With IABM director of technology and strategic insight, John Ive, in the chair, attendees will hear about the latest IABM Industry Index, the NAB End User Survey and some insights from the latest Global Market Valuation and Strategy Report from IABM CEO, Peter White. Moote will interview Del Parks (senior vice president/chief technology cffice at Sinclair Broadcast Group). A debate on the state of the industry will ensue, with panelists including Tony Emerson (worldwide managing director, media and cable Microsoft Corporation), George Hoover (CTO, NEP), Marco Lopez (president, Grass Valley, a Belden Brand), and David Stubenvoll (chief executive office and co-founder, Wowza).

The IABM Game Changer Awards will be presented at 5.30pm on Tuesday, April 19, and highlight and reward innovation at the show. The panel of 30 industry experts will be trawling the show floor to identify the real game-changing new products and services. As a result, the IABM Game Changer Awards are a great opportunity to see where the future of the industry lies and is open to all.

The NAB Advance Party (8:00 - 11:00pm, April 16 -- Gordon Biersch, Paradise Road) will play host to around 400 guests at CEO, director, VP and manager levels on the supply side, together with members of the press and end-user community. The Advance Party is designed to provide an informal environment for colleagues, partners, and competitors to network and discover new opportunities.

Throughout the show, IABM members have free access to two member lounges on the show floor located at N6715 and outside C2 Exhibition All entrance. Whether it's following up on a lead from the show in a quiet corner of the lounge using our free, secure Wi-Fi, networking with other exhibitor members or just taking a refreshment break, the lounges are always a very popular resource for members.

The IABM App will be keeping members up to date with the news from the show as it happens, including content from IABM.TV which will be out and about capturing all the latest news from the many member companies around the show.

Over the weekend April 16 - 17, the IABM Training Academy will be running a course to help members understand the potential of UHD and the new HEVC codec on Sunday April 17, 10:00am - 4:00pm in Room N226 at the LVCC. It will include a look at the glass-to-glass UHD workflow, and how UHD technology can play a part in HD productions to deliver higher quality results.

"Over the last year, we have significantly grown the range of services and support the IABM offers to members and also dramatically boosted our regional presence with the formation of the APAC, North America, and UK Councils," said IABM CEO, Peter White. "Our mission is to be the go-to business resource for members, and the voice of the industry worldwide. The broad range of activities planned for NAB demonstrate our absolute commitment to anticipating our members' needs and being a key force in moving our industry forward."
