Bonnaroo Parties with Bandit Lites

Killers perform at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival

Bandit Lites returned to The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival for another epic weekend of stellar music, comradery, and community with activities including a silent disco, yoga, comedy acts, mouthwatering food, a marketplace, and a sustainability focus. Working with Lambda Productions, Bandit Lites supplied the lighting package for multiple stages and provided additional lighting support for several performers.

More than 150 artists took to the 700-acre field where the festival site can grow to be the state's fifth largest town. Headliners Muse, Eminem, The Killers, Sheryl Crow, Alt J, Bon Iver, Future, Bassnectar, Paramore, Khalid, and Sturgill Simpson kicked the party into top gear as thousands took to the field. Bandit's package for the main stage system consisted of nearly 230 fixtures, including Robe BMFLs, Claypaky Mythos, GLP X4 Bar 20, Philips Vari-Lite VL 3500 Washes, VL 3000 Spots, Solaris Flare Strobes, Lycian M2 spots, and two MA Lighting grandMA 2 Full consoles for control.

"Working with the mainstage headliner LDs Oli Metcalfe (Muse), Daniel Boland (Eminem), and Steven Douglas (The Killers) was such a pleasure," commented Bandit production director Dizzy Gosnell. "They've all done dozens of festivals each, understand how to approach them, and are superbly capable of getting the best out of a rig that maybe isn't one hundred percent their own. It certainly requires a different mindset, and with the advance information I got from them all well ahead of time made it all flow quite well."

Both stages had significant amounts of extras packages and Bandit Lites supplied various fixtures such as VL 3500 Washes, VL 3000 Spots, Elation Professional CuePix WW2 Blinders, Illuminarc Panel 80 LED washes, Chauvet Professional Rogue Hybrids, Claypaky Sharpys, Ayrton MagicDot-R, Claypaky Mythos, Elation Paladins, Showline Nitro 510C, Elation CuePix WW2 Blinders, Chabuki Kabuki solenoids, and VL 6000 Mac Auras.

"Hadden Hippsely's Lambda crew of Marc Immerman (Mainstage) and Joe Gordon (Which stage) worked log and hard on the runup to this show and were superb on daily communications with needs and schedules for both stages," Gosnell said.

Bandit's crew for Bonnaroo was comprised of crew chiefs Craig Richter and Terese Fensler along with Andy French, Chas Albea, Joey DiLeo, Jason Giaffo, Mark Scherer, Vanessa Tuttoilmondo, Chase Strickland, and Adam McIntosh.

"As per usual the crew worked long and hard to keep things rolling and did a fantastic job of dodging the weather and keeping things moving, backed up by Gene Brian the project manager in the shop who oversaw the prep and build for weeks ahead of the show," Gosnell finished.
