AVW-TELAV and Ottawa Convention Centre named Partnership of the Year by Ottawa Tourism

AVW-TELAV Audio Visual Solutions and the Ottawa Convention Centre (OCC) have been awarded Partnership of the Year by Ottawa Tourism for their collaborative efforts and commitment to bringing new business to Canada's capital. The Ottawa Tourism Awards are presented annually and celebrate individuals, companies, and organizations that have set high standards and demonstrated outstanding achievement, contributing to the growth and development of tourism in Ottawa. The Partnership of the Year Award recognizes an exceptional effort by two or more businesses to combine their resources in creative, innovative or cost-effective ways to promote tourism in Canada's capital region.

When the OCC closed its doors in 2008 for reconstruction, AVW-TELAV and OCC saw the opportunity to begin a strategic, long-term partnership, ensuring a mutual commitment to the facility's innovative and cutting-edge technology infrastructure. Last year when the OCC re-opened its doors, it opened up a new world of progressive technological capabilities and first-class customer service support to meeting-and-convention planners from around the globe.

"AVW-TELAV is much more than an audio visual services supplier to the OCC," said Patrick Kelly, president, OCC. "OCC and AVW-TELAV regularly join forces in the effort to bring new convention business to the national capital region. This proactive, collaborative approach is recognized by prospective clients and provides a sample of the cooperation they can anticipate when they bring an event to Ottawa at OCC."

Dianne King, general manager, AVW-TELAV Ottawa, agrees with Kelly and credits the award to the development of a strong relationship with the OCC team, which now feels more like family. "Our teams truly enjoy working together and share a common goal of exceeding our customers' expectations," she said. "We look forward to collectively setting the bar even higher for innovative event solutions and solidifying Ottawa's position among the very top contenders in host-city destinations."
