William R. Benner, Jr. and Boris Bollinger at Prolight + Sound where the announcement was made of Pangolin acquiring Phoenix IP.

Pangolin Laser Systems, a provider of laser control software and hardware for the entertainment industry, announces that their company has acquired the intellectual property of Phoenix Showcontroller of Germany, another well-known manufacturer of laser show control products. Pangolin and Phoenix came together to structure the terms of this agreement, with a shared vision in mind to help continue to grow the laser light show industry as a whole.

"We look forward to welcoming Phoenix clients from around the world into the Pangolin family," said William R. Benner Jr., president and CTO of Pangolin Laser Systems. "This acquisition, and the ability to incorporate the best parts of the Phoenix software into our product line, will be a great compliment to our award-winning line of laser controllers, and will also help us to better serve our global client base and the laser industry as a whole. We also look forward to working with members of the Phoenix team to see how we can incorporate Pangolin technologies into the Phoenix platform, to fulfill our overall vision and continue to grow the laser entertainment industry."

"Over the years, Phoenix Showcontroller has put a heavy emphasis on providing clients with quality products, and great support," said Boris Bollinger, president of BocaTec Sales and Rent GmbH (parent company of Phoenix Showcontroller). "This has been one of the guiding principles behind our company philosophy. This new cooperation with Pangolin Laser Systems will help to further this initiative, as Pangolin also shares the same values and long term goals. It was a great pleasure to work with the Pangolin team to structure this agreement, and I believe that they will do a great job in continuing to provide clients around the world with high quality laser control systems and fantastic support to back them up."

During the announcement, the Pangolin team also mentioned that support of the Phoenix platform would continue for the foreseeable future, and that the central support location for Phoenix would remain in Hamburg, Germany. In the same light, sales of Phoenix products would also continue to be exclusively distributed by Laserworld AG, a well known manufacturer of laser show systems used across a wide variety of entertainment applications.
