COVID-19 Update: ESTA Update on Coronavirus

A message from ESTA executive director, Erin Grabe:

"ESTA is closely monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation, not only through regular updates from WHO (World Health Organization) and CDC (Centers for Disease Control), but also in communication with other associations, events, and organizations.

"WHO (World Health Organization) and CDC (Center for Disease Control), or the health authorities governing your jurisdiction are resources that provide comprehensive, up-to-date information for the public regarding COVID-19 and all other public health concerns. For ESTA members and the general industry in the US, the following should be considered at this time:

* "Everyone should stay abreast of new developments in the spread of the virus, and closely monitor the key sources of information, WHO and CDC.

* "Members should avail themselves of the interim guidance for businesses, available from the CDC. Anyone may sign up to receive updates from the CDC at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/specific-groups/guidance-business-response.html.

* "If you already have event cancellation insurance, visit with your agent to verify that communicable disease was already covered. If you do not already have event cancellation insurance, then any policy you could procure at this time would exclude coronavirus.

"The US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is the most reliable source of information and news in the United States. Their website resources and news page are constantly updated.

ESTA will continue to monitor the situation and provide our members and the industry with anything else that may be relevant."
