New Name, Expanded Focus for Third Technology Summit

Five well known audiovisual and classroom technologies manufacturers, FSR, Inc.; Biamp Systems; Christie Digital; Draper, Inc.; and Quam Nichols, have partnered to offer a full day of cost-free training to AV industry technology managers.

The Technology Managers' Summit (TMS), formerly the Higher Education Technology Summit (HETS), was originally created for college and university managers of educational technology to combine a day of product training, networking, and peer-to-peer discussions in a fast moving format. After considering the great success of this format among those in higher education, the team of 5 manufacturers decided to expand the audience to all technology managers including education, corporate, government, hospitality, house of worship, etc. Also new this year: Tim Albright of AVNation will be the TMS host and moderator.

Gina Sansivero, director of business development, education at FSR, Inc. tells why they expanded the audience reach. "As industry leading manufacturers, we understand that the challenges that educational technology managers face are not exclusive to their market. All technology managers are increasingly taking on more responsibility to develop technology standards and specify products for their in-house AV systems."

Michael Frank, sales development director, eastern North America at Biamp Systems notes, "Technology managers typically have limited budgets for professional development, training, and travel. A regional, cost- free, single day event provides the training they are asking for as well as time for time to network with their colleagues from different markets throughout the region. And, bringing in an expert (and ex-technology manager) like Mr. Albright is just another way the TMS will provide value for our attendees."

Biamp, Christie, Draper, Quam, and FSR strategically aligned for the March event to help technology managers expand their knowledge as they prepare for upcoming installations. This TMS in Raleigh-Durham, NC will provide a cost-free venue for technology managers to gather for a day of:
* Product training with CTS Renewal Units provided by non-competitive AV manufacturers
* Peer-to-peer panel discussion focusing on the challenges and successes of designing systems in open architecture workspace, flexible training rooms, huddle spaces, and more!
* Networking that gives attendees the ability to discuss experiences, installations, and solutions with their contemporaries
* Fun! This third TMS is movning down south- to an area known for their southern hospitality and delicious food!

Randy Moore, president of Quam Nichols explains why they chose to continue to sponsor this TMS event a second time, "Quam is dedicated to supporting technology managers. The feedback from the second HETS in Philadelphia indicated that the presentations and discussions were relevant and informative. We knew we wanted to continue to be a part of the third event in Raleigh."

Richard Derbyshire, consultant relations manager for Christie Digital, adds, "Being a part of a program like TMS has been a priority for Christie. There is significant value in educating technology managers to help them make informed decisions for their projects and for the benefit of their faculty, staff and students."

Steve Cook, consultant relations manager for Draper, Inc., concluded, "If the 2017 InfoComm show taught us anything, it is that technology managers are starved for information and training. 44-percent of the attendees at the event were technology managers -- a record number. And we only anticipate this increasing."

The details of the event are:
Date: March 8, 2018
Location: Durham, NC
Time: 9:30am - 6:00pm (lunch and networking happy hour will be included)
Event registration (required -- open to technology managers only) and further details can be found at the URL below.
