Exciting Product Launches and UK Debuts Revealed to the Scottish Entertainment Industry at PLASA Focus Glasgow

PLASA Focus Glasgow 2017

PLASA Focus Glasgow kicked off the 2017 show season unveiling exciting new product launches and UK debuts including EM Acoustics' ESP-8 and IC range, Allen & Heath's new dLive C1500 on SSE's stand, RCF's TT45-CXA touring and theatre series, Area Four's EXE Rise 500kg electric chain hoist, and ETC's new AV version of the ColorSource console.

The show, taking place at the SECC in Glasgow, attracted a record number of visitors on day one hosting packed seminar sessions including Phil Ward's panel entitled: "Is Point Source Fighting Back" and the Riggers Forum.

Chris Toulmin, director of PLASA Events says, "PLASA Focus Glasgow has gathered fantastic momentum in the Scottish region, attracting industry support from likes of the BBC, Department of International Trade, and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. The buzzing show floor is further testament for the thriving Scottish market and a great platform for networking."

Steve Austin, director, Flightcase Warehouse comments, "We welcomed record numbers of customers on the first morning and reckon we have done more business than at the previous two Glasgow shows combined. The Scottish market really seemed to appreciate a show like this taking place in the region."

The show hosted a wealth of console training and product demos including L-Acoustics and Martin Professional hosted by Adlib; MA Lighting Dot2 lighting console training by Ambersphere Solutions; and ChamSys' introduction sessions to MagicQ, Magicvis visualization, and MagicHD Media Player.

Barclay Dakers, sales and business development manager for Scotland Adlib, says "PLASA Focus Glasgow is an important platform for us because of our very diverse customer base from end user to venues to rental houses. It is a great meeting place for everyone to get together and talk about the requirements for the next 12 months in a relaxed atmosphere. Our demo facility at the show allows new and existing customers to get hands-on experience of the products and have direct contacts with the brands."

Toulmin adds, "We look forward to building on the focus model in the future for the thriving Scottish live entertainment market."
