Seminar Program at Art-Net 4 Zone Announced during PLASA Show

Artistic Licence, inventor of Art-Net and designer of lighting control, is hosting a dedicated Art-Net stand at this year's PLASA London show, September 18 - 20. This exciting new initiative -- entitled Art-Net 4 Zone (stand R71) -- is supported by PLASA and LSi and seeks to provide expert education and training on the use of Art-Net and related protocols.

Thanks to the support of similar-minded sponsor companies, Artistic's expertise will be complemented by a range of technical experts who are giving their time to make the event a success.

Throughout the first two days of the show (Sunday, September 18, and Monday, September 19), invited speakers will give 15-minute technical briefings on a range of relevant topics. The line-up has now been confirmed as follows:

Sunday 18th:
11:00am -- Wayne Howell (Artistic Licence) -- Introduction to Art-Net 4
12:00pm -- Geoff Archenhold (IST Lighting Group) -- An Introduction to VLC
2:00pm -- Hamish Dumbreck (JESE) -- An Introduction to Integrity
3:00pm -- Iain Ruxton (Speirs + Major) -- What does the LD want from Networks?
4:00pm -- Wayne Howell (Artistic Licence) - How do PoE++ and uPoE relate to Art-Net 4?

Monday 19th:
11:00am -- Wayne Howell (Artistic Licence) -- Introduction to Art-Net 4
12:00pm -- Gorka Cortázar and Tapio Rosenius (UNSTATIC and LDC) -- Using Art-Net in Large Scale Media Systems
2:00pm -- Fraser Connolly (Artistic Licence) -- An Introduction to DMX-Workshop
3:00pm -- Wayne Howell (Artistic Licence) -- The Concept of Discovery and Subscription in Art-Net
4:00pm -- Jon Hole (Eaton - Zero 88) -- Implementing Art-Net in Lighting Consoles
5:00pm -- Peter Willis (Howard Eaton Lighting) -- Using the Lab Pack in RDM and Art-Net
6:00pm -- Bob Goddard (Goddard Design Company) -- DMX512 Timing Problems and Analysis

Booking is not required -- just come along to stand R71 to listen to the tech-briefings. Following each presentation, questions can be put directly to the speakers in "face-time" sessions.

For the most hands-on technical enthusiasts, the final show day Tuesday, September 20, is saved for "Art-Fest." The format, which will be familiar to many product developers, is intended to allow visitors to test the inter-operability of devices from various manufacturers.
