Community Provides All-Weather Solution for Mandala Beach Club

Community iBOX and WET Series Loudspeakers at Mandala Beach Club

Ampere Manufacturas Electronicas S.A.De C.V. has supplied and installed a new outdoor sound system for The Mandala Beach Club in CancĂșn, Mexico, utilizing Community iBOX and WET loudspeakers.

The Mandala Beach Club is located on a narrow strip of land off the CancĂșn coast and is one of the region's top clubs. It enjoys the idyllic setting of a soft sandy beach lapped by the clear blue waters of the Caribbean. The beautiful setting does, however, have a major drawback for sound equipment as the system is fully exposed to the elements. As a result, the club has previously had numerous bad experiences, with well-known brands that could not survive the humidity, high temperatures, and winds that carry sand and salt. Even with being covered at night, previous systems were unable to endure the conditions. What Mandala Beach Club needed was a system that could provide high-quality, club-standard sound and withstand the weather 24/7.

The new system was designed by Manuel Tapia from Ampere and comprises four three-way, large format 15" iBOX iHP-3564s, 14 dual 15" iHP-215LVS subs, 14 three-way, 8" WET W2-228s, and 12 compact two-way W2-218s. The iHP systems are all-weather versions of Community's powerful flagship iBOX range, featuring heavy duty fiberglass-coated Marine plywood and three-layer weather-resistant grilles.

The system also included Community Distributed Design DP6 pendant loudspeakers under the covered walkways. Processing for the system is handled by Community's advanced dSPEC226AN network-enabled loudspeaker processor.

Tapia commented: "High-end club sound and all-weather are two things not often specified together, but the Community system delivers on both counts and perfectly meets the clubs requirements. The club's management is so pleased with the system they have just ordered a similar Community system for another of their venues."
