WiSE and Le Mark join forces for Breast Cancer Awareness

Every year entertainment technology trade event, PLASA Focus: Leeds, provides a hub of innovation and valuable industry networking opportunities. This year was no different. However in addition to its usual offerings the show saw progress of another kind. WiSE (Women in Stage Entertainment) and Le Mark, specialists in self-adhesive tapes, printed tapes, road case labels, and dance floors have joined forces to raise funds for Breast Cancer Care.

Le Mark, maker of the Dirty Rigger collection, announced that 10% of proceeds from the sale of their Ladies XS range of gloves for the coming year would go towards the Breast Cancer Care Program.

To maximize the reach of this initiative Le Mark has teamed up with WiSE (Women in Stage Entertainment), a not-for-profit networking group for women working in the industry. Sarah Rushton-Read, co-founder of WiSE says: "We were delighted to be asked to team up with Le Mark to promote this valuable initiative and we really hope we can help. WiSE has nearly 600 female members and a vast network of supporters working in the industry worldwide. Not only do we hope this initiative will help increase awareness of Breast Cancer in general and encourage early detection amongst women but it will raise valuable funds for an important charity that supports those who have already been affected by the disease."

Linda Gibbons of Le Mark continues: "The Ladies XS range of gloves have been hugely popular since their release at the PLASA 2011 show. We see the alliance with WiSE as a perfect pairing and an opportunity to maximize the funds we can raise for the Breast Cancer Care program."

The agreement, which was announced on Wednesday, April 18, means that WiSE members will soon be able to support the program directly through the WiSE website. In the coming weeks the Dirty Rigger gloves will be for sale at wiseonline.org, making it super simple for members to protect their hands and support a good cause at the same time."

This is the first agreement of its kind for WiSE but the organization hopes to develop similar opportunities in the future.
