Dates Set for 2027 URTA Interviews

Registration opens in less than a week for the 2027 URTAs. The URTA auditions and interviews -- or, "the URTAs"-- have been connecting prospective students with top graduate programs for over 50 years.

Registration opens online Monday, August 31 at 12pm (Eastern).

Interviews for design/technology candidates will take place as follows: Live virtual interviews are scheduled for January 10, focusing on costume, lighting, media/projections, props, scenic, sound, and technical direction.

In-person interviews will take place in Chicago on January 22 and 23. The first day will focus on costume, lighting, media/projections, and scenic. The second day will focus on costume, lighting, props, scenic, and technical direction. No sound recruiting will take place in Chicago.

For stage managers, virtual interviews will take place on January 9 and 10.
