Chauvet Professional Introduces COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP -- IP66-Rated RGBW Wash with Zoom

COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP from Chauvet Professional

Indoors or outdoors, rain or shine, the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP from Chauvet Professional will reliably light up stages and performers with intense, ultra-vibrant RGBW colors. Containing 14 15W quad-color (red, green, blue, white) LEDs, which emit up to 8,000 lux at 5m, this new addition is the brightest, most powerful PAR-style colorwash fixture in the entire COLORado IP family.

It is also rugged and weatherproof; built to withstand serious onslaughts of wind and precipitation, the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP is IP66 rated with an M12 GORE valve for assured internal equalization. Even the proprietary power cord and DMX input cable that come included with the unit top the ingress protection scale at IP66, making the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP a perfect choice for summer concerts, amphitheaters, festivals, fairs, sporting events, and other temporary outdoor applications.

Along with its brightness, the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP is packed with professional features that give it the versatility to serve multiple functions on a lighting rig. It features a wide-ranging 6- to 30-degree zoom, which allows designers to use it for highlighting performers and objects with a narrow beam, or flooding an entire stage with an expansive wash of light. Nine distinct dimming curves, and 16-bit dimming of individual colors plus a master dimmer, add to the unit's flexibility.

Like other members of Chauvet Professional's COLORado Series, this newcomer truly shines when it comes to creating rich, vivid colors. Its quad-color RGBW LEDs can blend a virtually infinite palette of clear shadow-free colors to satisfy every mood, design need, and client request, whether a delicate pastel or jeweltone. Its broad color temperature range of 2,800-10,000K allows the creation of any shade of white imaginable -- from warm tungsten to cool daylight. There are even convenient color temperature presets from 3,200-10,000K.

"With outdoor concerts and festivals using increasingly intense, powerful lighting, the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP was designed to bring a new level of brightness to IP-rated PAR-style fixtures," said Ben Dickmann, product manager for Chauvet Professional. "But this amazing fixture is about much more than sheer power. Professional features such as a 6- to 30-degree zoom, multiple dimming curves, and quad-color RGBW mixing give it tremendous versatility, which means that designers can use the same fixture for a number of different purposes, and get greater value from their investment."

"The COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP's flexibility and rugged construction make it ideal for the rental market, too," added Dickmann. "Its IP-rated connections and hardware can stand up to rigorous use, even when exposed to the elements, and its long-life LEDs will run for up to 50,000 hours."

Other features on the COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP include built-in automated programs, color macros with speed adjustment, color calibration, an accessory slot/gel frame, and a variable strobe effect. Users can access RGBW color mixing, zoom control and the unit's other features manually or via DMX, with seven profiles available (three-, four-, five- six-, seven-, 12-, or 17-channel) for programming versatility.

The COLORado 2-Quad Zoom IP features auto-ranging multi-voltage operation: 100-240VAC, 50/60 Hz. Up to seven units can be power-linked at 120V, 13 units at 208V, and 14 units at 230V. The luminaire comes with a dual bracket yoke that doubles as a floor stand. It measures 11.1" x 9.3" x 13.8" (283 x 236 x 348mm) and weighs 18.2lb (8.7kg).
