CPL Invests Again in d&b audiotechnik

Fast-growing, Warwickshire, UK-based, live video, AV, and technical production specialist CPL announces a further investment in d&b audiotechnik equipment, underlining its commitment to the brand, with whom CPL has enjoyed a long and productive relationship stretching back 20 years.

CPL managing director Matthew "Max" Boyse states: "d&b has proved a high quality, hugely reliable, and consistent solution for our audio needs for many years," adding that as well as continuing their relationship with these latest purchases, it also "steps up a level with a new 'partnership' arrangement recognizing our long-term focus on the brand."

The latest deal worth around 200K includes substantial quantities Y and V series speakers, which replace all CPL's older Q-series stock, and another large amount of E-series -- E6s, E8s, and B4-Subs -- taking the place of the E3 series and older E products. This is complete with all the requisite rigging and associated hardware for the speakers.

The next round of purchases will be for d&b new D20 and D80 amplifiers.

Boyse adds, "We had a fantastic run with the Q-Series, it's been an absolutely rock solid investment, and we're hoping for the same with the new kit."

The company says one of the many advantages of stocking an industry standard brand like d&b is a healthy cross rental market, especially in the corporate and live event world.

In a highly competitive market, CPL, which initially specialized in projection systems, cameras, PPUs, and all elements of live video, is now supplying full production -- audio, lighting, video, staging -- to most of its clients.

With this, the demand for audio has increased dramatically over the last 10 years, together with the trend for producers and production agencies to source all their technical elements and expertise from one company.

This enhances the cost-effectivity and is considerably more efficient on time and organization, with one project manager covering all technical bases for the client rather than three or four.

The company reports it has expanded steadily over the years, "modeled on sensible investment in the appropriate technologies and quality brands, a personal and individual approach offering a talented and enthusiastic team all dedicated to delivering the very best results to the highest standards for its clients."

CPL has also regularly sent their audio engineers and technicians on d&b's renowned product training courses.

Boyse comments, "The courses are exceptionally well structured with proper focus on the in-depth technical elements of the system and how to make the most of these in all contexts ... rather than it being a sales-based exercise."

He concludes "Evolving a special relationship with d&b is not just about commercial transactions, it's about mutual respect and recognizing the needs of businesses and the industry generally. We are very proud to have reached this stage with a leading manufacturer."

It also consolidates similar working partnerships that CPL enjoys with other key premium brands like Barco and Panasonic.
