NATEAC 2016 Comes to a Successful Close

By any measure, the 2016 North American Theatre Engineering and Architecture Conference (NATEAC), a quadrennial two-day event, has been a complete success. The conference attracted over 300 delegates from 11 countries on four continents with more than 75 speakers offering presentations at 24 sessions as well as a keynote address and plenary session.

"No event is totally devoid of issues," noted conference director Bill Sapsis, "but, with the exception of an under-performing air conditioner in one of the breakout rooms, we had no real problems. The weather for the cruise was terrific, as were the serendipitous fireworks. The presenters were well prepared, articulate, and informative and the networking events did exactly what they were supposed to do; give the delegates an opportunity to meet with their peers."

NATEAC's mission is to promote dialog between the design professionals, engineers, equipment manufacturers, installers, and end users to ensure that modern performance spaces meet the demands placed on them by performers and the public alike.

The next NATEAC will take place in 2020.
