Richard Cadena Presents his Power for Live Events Course to the Event Technicians Resource Group

The Event Technicians Resource Group kicks off its online training program with special guest Richard Cadena.

Scott C. Parker and Stage Seminars announce the Event Technicians Resource Group launch of its training program with subject expert Cadena. He will be presenting his workshop covering Power for Live Events on Monday, May 17th at 1:00pm. The four-hour session Basic Power Distribution for Audio, Video, and Lighting will cover (1) circuits and circuit laws; (2) grounding and bonding; (3) electrical safety; (4) audio, video, and lighting power distribution; (5) "clean power" -- reducing and eliminating buzzes and hums.

Parker says, "we are thrilled to start our training program with the man who wrote the book Electricity for Entertainment Electricians and Technicians. I benefited from Richard's training greatly during my study towards getting ETCP certified." Information and registration for this half-day $199 workshop can be found at eventtrg.com/clean-power-for-corporate-events-2021/.

Cadena explains, "Electricity and portable power distribution can be hazardous if it is not set up and operated by trained, qualified people. Understanding electric circuits, power distribution, grounding and bonding, and other aspects of powering up audio, video, and lighting systems are the key to providing clean power. Tracking down and eliminating noises, hums, and buzzes, and safely resolving issues that can interfere with a live or online presentation."

Cadena is an ETCP Certified Entertainment Electrician and an ETCP Recognized Trainer with 31 years of experience in the entertainment lighting industry. He is the author of Electricity for Entertainment Electricians and Technicians, Third Edition; Automated Lighting: The Art and Science of Moving Light, Second Edition. Cadena is also the technical editor for PLASA Media and a columnist for LightingandSound America, Light & Sound International, and Protocol magazines. As a freelance lighting designer and lighting consultant, he has worked on concert tours, television, theatre, and motion picture productions. He has designed dozens of lighting systems for permanent installations.

The Event Technicians Resource Group is for those who work in the corporate theater industry, aka corporate events, corporate meetings, association meetings, etc.
