Lucille Lortel Nominations Announced

The nominations were announced yesterday for the Lucille Lortel Awards, which honor achievement in New York's Off Broadway and Off Off Broadway scenes. The design nominees include:

Leading the nominations with six is Hansol Jung's Wolf Play, a drama about an illegal adoption. Earning five nominations apiece are Samuel D. Hunter's A Case for the Existence of God, a two-hander about loneliness in Idaho; the Irish Rep's revival of Samuel Beckett's Endgame, Brian Watkins' mystical comedy Epiphany; and Titanique, a musical spoof of the famous film, using numbers from the Celine Dion songbook. Earning four nominations apiece are Downstate, Bruce Norris' scalding drama about a group home for sex offenders; the Broadway-bound revival of the Stephen Sondheim-George Furth musical Merrily We Roll Along, and Victor I. Cazares, fantastical comedy-drama about immigration american (tele)visions.
