VUE Audiotechnik Sounds Good in Dublin

Vue Audiotechnik's i-4.5

Designing and implementing commercial audio systems for venues ranging from hair salons, to tattoo parlors, to restaurants is a challenge embraced by Sounds Good Ltd. Headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, Sounds Good Ltd. became the first dealer for VUE Audiotechnik throughout Ireland approximately one year ago. The resulting partnership has yielded several interesting installs by Sounds Good Ltd., all of which feature Vue loudspeakers.

Drawing upon 20 years of experience, Ed Rice, founder of Sounds Good Ltd., established his new company in 2012, developing it into a diverse one-stop shop that provides equipment, consultation, and installation for venues ranging from retail outlets, pubs and restaurants, to theatres, exhibition halls, and corporate events. According to Rice, Sounds Good Ltd. chose to represent Vue because they appreciated "the sound and build quality, and value of Vue products, as well as the reputation of the people behind the brand. As of now, our sales have consisted primarily of Vue's i-Class products, but we plan to run demos to increase brand awareness and interest."

Sounds Good Ltd. recently completed several extraordinary installations incorporating Vue loudspeakers, including The Church Restaurant Skibereen located in Skibereen, Co. Cork, Ireland. As the name implies, the restaurant now occupies what had been a Methodist Church, which held weekly services as recently as 2003. A fire damaged the building in 2006, but it has since been restored to a beautiful and historic restaurant. The existing hi-fi type sound system was replaced with 10 Vue i-4.5s, supplemented with three is-26 Compact Surface-Mount Subwoofer Systems for enhanced low-frequency reproduction from an LKM Music and Media Server. Vue's is-26 was designed to complement the i-4.5, and extends low-frequency response down to 48Hz. Rice was able to interface the Vue speakers with the existing wiring infrastructure, minimizing disruption to everyday business.

Touted as Dublin's best steakhouse and brunch restaurant, the Whitefriar Grill has also received the Sounds Good Ltd. and Vue treatment. The Whitefriar required a background music system that would also be able to handle the restaurant's "Disco Brunch" events. Rice employed four i-4.5s and a single is-26a subwoofer. The i-4.5s are powered using Crown amplification while the is-26a features an onboard amplifier capable of delivering 220W continuous power. As a result, Rice was able to increase overall system power while maximizing efficiency and taking advantage of the is-26a's integrated variable crossover.

Quite a different venue is Davey Davey Men's Salon, one of Dublin's most stylish and exclusive men's salons. This was a "clean" install that did not have an existing sound system in place. Rice specified Vue i-4.5 Compact Full Range Systems, powered using Pioneer amplifiers for the salon's digital background music system. The i-4.5's 5" depth and surface-mount profile enabled the cabinets to be placed out of view from the clientele while still providing coverage throughout the men's cutting and coloring rooms.

Rice describes the Vue Audio i-Class as being "the ideal surface-mount background music speaker for bars, hotels, and restaurants. The i-Class provides really good sound quality, reasonable pricing and solid build quality. All of our customers have been 100 percent happy with the results we are getting with the Vue loudspeakers."
