Crain's New York Business Names McLaren Engineering Group a Top New York City Area Engineering Firm

McLaren Engineering Group, a full-service engineering firm serving ten markets, announced that it has ranked No. 15 on Crain's New York Business 2019 list of Largest Engineering Firms.

"This recognition is a testament to the expertise McLaren provides and our commitment to clients. Over the past year, we experienced company-wide growth - expanding our portfolio, widening our regional footprint and recruiting top talent," says Jeremy Billig, president, McLaren Engineering Group. "As we continue this upward trend, we're thrilled that Crain's New York Business has credited us as one of the largest engineering firms in the metro area."

McLaren has designed and engineered some of the New York area's most complex and iconic projects - including high-rise mixed-use developments at 416 and 420 Kent in Williamsburg, Domino Park in Brooklyn, Post Avenue Bridge in Westbury, signage in Times Square, the White Plains Hospital Center's reconstruction and renovation, and over 20 terminal expansions for the NYC Ferry.

McLaren has also been widely recognized for its extraordinary entertainment engineering, which includes work in nearly every Broadway theater and work on over 100 Broadway productions including the Tony Award-winning Hadestown.

McLaren's work in the Garden State includes the mixed-use developments at 197 and 207 Van Vorst in Jersey City, the Passaic Avenue Bridge in Bergen County, the Weehawken Recreation Pier, automated signage at Newark Airport and wharf reconstruction at Port Newark. The firm has also worked to improve over 300 miles of coastline in the Port of New York and New Jersey.

Since the firm was founded in 1977, it has completed over 15,000 projects and grown to employ 250 staff across 11 offices. Licensed in 49 states, the firm has designed and engineered some of the country's most important bridges, structures, and entertainment venues.

"The Crain's recognition comes on the heels of significant growth and momentum at McLaren, with expansions in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania," says Malcolm G. McLaren, founder and CEO of McLaren Engineering Group. "We are continuing to expand our offerings to serve a diverse, g¬lobal client base."

The firm currently serves ten key markets including arts, entertainment, and exhibits; education; energy; government; healthcare; industrial; ports, coastal and waterfront; public infrastructure; real estate development; and transportation.

Crain's New York Business issued extensive surveys to produce its 2019 rankings. Selections were based on firmwide revenue, firm size, and number of projects in the 2018 fiscal year.
