Tomcat Launches 25th Anniversary Celebration at LDI 2011

Tomcat officially starts its 25th Anniversary celebration at LDI, Friday through Sunday, Orlando, Florida. At the show, the company will share projects, products and installations created and displayed throughout its history (1987-2012). Its sister staging companies, Litec and Brilliant Stages, will join Tomcat and share its most recent manufactured and installed custom projects. In addition, Tomcat delivered the training session "Strength Under Pressure-What Makes a Truss System Safe Indoors & Out?" as part of LDI's Rigging and Electrical Bootcamp.

Tomcat will display in its 30" x 40" booth a variety of custom projects and products manufactured for different customers and markets throughout its history. These projects and products can be appreciated through pictures displayed in several panels, which represent a specific moment in history, and highlight relevant facts. The company's history is traced in four different segments: Inception, Expansion, Innovation, and Escalation.

Inception (1987-1995) highlights the spirit of innovation and service on which the company was founded, leading to early success with projects for Pink Floyd, Genesis and The Rolling Stones. "Strength Under Pressure" became the cornerstone for innovative concert solutions. Expansion (1996-2001) stresses the new structures and markets outside the concert touring manufactured by Tomcat, as well as the acquisition of Brilliant Stages in the UK, and the increased manufacturing capacity in Tomcat de Mexico.

The panel Innovation (2002-2006) provides information about the internal growth and product novelty of the company with products such as Swing Wing, standard dance towers, arena lighting system-Baxx Truss and improved fabrication techniques and qualifications, as well as the increased commitment to industry safety as a recognized ETCP training program. Finally, the Escalation panel (2007-2012) highlights Tomcat joining The Vitec Group, plc. in 2007, the innovations such as the updated Swing Wing with EDGE, the QU (Quick Utility) truss line and the Tomcat CORE product line, as well as the undertaking of challenging custom project solutions.

Brilliant Stages panels provides mages of recent custom projects including the Take That's Progress Live 2011 Tour, where Brilliant Stages built the main stage, the track and "Om," the moving 65.' man In Lintec's panel an image of what the company says is the highest stage in the world can be appreciated. The stage, made for Vasco Live Kom 011 Tour, was designed by Studio GiĆ² Forma and supplied by Italstage Company; scenography is given "simply" by iron and aluminum trusses. The structure consists of several types of Litec trusses.

"Strength Under Pressure-What Makes a Truss System Safe Indoors & Out?" assisted attendees in the understanding about safe parameters in using truss overhead both indoors and out by sorting through some of the myths and providing specific guidance on how structural truss components can be safely used for solutions to common conundrums. In addition, attendees earned eight ETCP renewal credits.
