Elation Sponsors Sound Check Xpo Seminar by Jonathan Smeeton

Last year, Elation Professional hosted a Sound Check Xpo seminar featuring renowned video lighting master Dave Maxwell. The best way to follow up such an extraordinary performance is to showcase another lighting legend, Jonathan Smeeton, the company says. This year's Elation sponsored seminar will feature Smeeton as he walks lighting designers through his entire creation process, sharing insights he has gained from an astounding four-decade career.

The seminar, titled "Concert Lighting From Idea To Design To Reality," will be held Monday, April 22, at Sound Check Xpo in Mexico City, Mexico. Smeeton's seminar will walk attendees through his entire creation process, as he shares design sketches and notes from three major lighting projects, including the blockbuster Taylor Swift Fearless Tour.

Beginning with his initial concepts and mental imagery, Smeeton will explain how he translates these into sketches and models, using the actual materials created for past tours. Smeeton will guide the crowd through the physical setup, and into performance night, including first-hand advice on making every step of the project a success.

Attendees will gain a unique perspective on the design process from the seminar. Smeeton will share personal insights on how to stay connected and creative, always thinking outside the box. Along the way, he'll include tricks and tips learned from his own experiences.

Smeeton has worked with entertainment giants like The Rolling Stones, Diana Ross, Journey, 3 Doors Down, Phil Collins, are more, he carries an unparalleled skill-set of design knowledge and ingenuity, the company says.
