Studio Gear Partners with High End Systems to Launch Hog Factor at USITT

Studio Gear, a platinum High End Systems partner based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will be exhibiting at the USITT Conference & Stage Expo in Cincinnati, Ohio, on March 18 - 21. Products on display from High End Systems will include the Shapeshifter, Solaspot Pro 1500, Solawash 19, Axon HD Pro, and the entire Hog4 product lineup.

Automated lighting and control manufacturer High End Systems introduces Hog Factor, a new national collegiate lighting show programming competition for students at recognized colleges and universities throughout the United States. Participating universities are invited to enter teams of up to three students, with no limit on the number of teams submitted for the competition. Prizes include a Hog 4 console (MSRP $44,000), a $20,000 scholarship for their school, and an internship at High End Systems, with the opportunity to join the company full-time following a successful trial period. In addition, there will be prizes for the runners-up, and each member of the winning team will win a HedgeHog 4X console.

High End Systems director of sales Chris Ferrante commented, "We are very excited to launch the first national lighting programming competition ever held; it's a solid investment in the future of this industry. We believe Hog Factor is an excellent opportunity for students and their respective faculties to gain new skills and broaden their horizons."

Studio Gear's Mike Atkins commented: "When we heard about the Hog Factor competition, we knew that USITT would be the perfect catalyst to introduce the program. We have been huge supporters of the USITT Presents program, offering Hog4 training at the conference the past three years, and we are excited to work with High End Systems in developing the next generation of Hog users through this competition. There are still some seats open for the Hog4 Training in Cincinnati and I encourage students to sign up before it is too late." Studio Gear will be offering free onsite training and console integration to any university that buys a Hog4 console during USITT.

Studio Gear has also invited DK Production Design, a Chicago, Illinois-based design firm, to join forces in support of the Hog Factor design competition. DK is offering time in their new pre-visualization studio Creative Spaces studio complete with LightConverse and a Hog4 console. Additionally, Studio Gear will be hosting a Hog4 class at DK's Chicago office in early June.

Terry Heisler of DK Production Design commented: "We, at DK, are pleased to provide our CS studio to the Hog Factor competition. We are excited to meet the lighting designers and programmers of tomorrow."

Representatives from Studio Gear, High End Systems, and DK Production Design will be on hand at Studio Gear's booth 1913 to answer any questions. For free USITT expo passes use, promo code SG1913.
