McLaren Engineering Group, a full-service engineering firm with eight divisions, is opening its newest office in Allentown, Pennsylvania, to expand its roster of public and private sector clients in the Lehigh Valley. The new office, located at 5100 West Tilghman Street, provides services in vertical structures and the steel industry, and will be developing McLaren's other divisions, including transportation and entertainment.

"The Lehigh Valley offers opportunities to expand our world-class engineering services further, and will help us better serve clients throughout the state," said Malcolm McLaren, P.E., president and CEO, McLaren Engineering Group, based in West Nyack, New York. "We are also enthusiastic about the opportunity to attract talent from Lehigh University and Lafayette College, which have excellent engineering programs."

McLaren's Lehigh Valley office is led by Matthew B. Kawczenski, P.E., S.E., who was recently named the 2015 "Engineer of the Year" by the Lehigh Valley Section of American Society of Civil Engineers.

"As a lifelong resident of Pennsylvania, I'm particularly enthusiastic about leading and growing our new Allentown office," said Kawczenski, McLaren's Pennsylvania regional director. "We plan to expand our services across a number of different markets here."

"We are proud to welcome McLaren Engineering Group's expertise in the steel, transportation, and entertainment industries to the Lehigh Valley," said Frank Facchiano, chief operating officer, Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. "We know that McLaren will be active and engaged members of the community as they recruit talent from nearby universities and help support the region's continued growth."

McLaren's regional projects have included the Philly Live casino (civil, structural, and geotechnical services), Xfinity! Live Philadelphia, Bucknell University Theater, and the Penn's Landing marina.
