Shure Announces Executive Roles for Dave Cerra, Tom Kundmann, and Erik Vaveris

Shure Incorporated has promoted three key associates to the position of vice president.

Dave Cerra has been named vice president of conferencing in the product development division. Cerra joined Shure as an audio engineer in 1995. During his tenure, Cerra was lead audio developer for many of the company's wireless products and invented its patented Audio Reference Companding (ARC). He led the development of other key products such as PSM 900, PSM 1000, Microflex Wireless, and Microflex Advance. Cerra holds bachelor's degrees in recording from DePaul University and in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University.

Tom Kundmann has been named vice president of professional wireless products in the product development division. Kundmann began his Shure career in 2009 and has demonstrated expertise in the development of RF, digital, and DSP subsystems from architectures to final product testing. Kundmann has led numerous digital wireless initiatives at Shure, including the development of PGX-D, ULX-D, GLX-D, QLX-D, and Axient Digital. He has a bachelor's degree (BSEE) from the University of Illinois-Champaign and a master's degree (MSEE) from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Kundmann holds 12 US Patents in wireless technology.

Erik Vaveris has been named vice president of global marketing in the global marketing and sales division. Vaveris joined Shure in 2001 and has held several positions in GMS, including product specialist, research analyst, portfolio manager for entertainment products, and wireless category manager. Vaveris worked with product specialists and engineers to successfully launch PGX-D, Axient, Wireless Workbench, ULX-D, BLX, GLX-D, Microflex Wireless, and QLX-D.

In 2014, he was named director of strategic planning, and he was appointed associate vice president of global marketing in 2016. Vaveris leads the planning and implementation of marketing efforts to ensure consistency with the Shure brand position across pro audio, musician and consumer audio, and integrated systems. Vaveris has a bachelor's degree in music from Dartmouth College, a master's degree in music technology from Northwestern University, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management.
