Artistic Licence Engineering to Present DMX and RDM Workshop on PLASA Skills Wednesday

As part of the PLASA Education and Training Program, Artistic Licence Engineering will be holding a training seminar on the DMX and RDM protocols during the show's "Skills Wednesday." The seminar, titled "DMX & RDM Protocols Overview," will take place from 10:30am-1pm on Wednesday, September 14, in the Harbour Room in Earls Court 2. The seminar can accommodate up to 30 attendees. Tim Baarsch, an R&D manager from Artistic Licence Engineering, will speak. The event will focus on the understanding and use of the DMX and RDM protocols.

The three-hour course will cater for product designers, systems integrators, lighting technicians, artists, and students who seek to expand their scope of these two industry-standard lighting protocols.

A step-by-step approach on how the protocols communicate will provide delegates with a solid basis from which to use DMX and RDM with confidence. The electronic requirements will be examined and demystified. Tools of the trade will be presented and demonstrated.

The course will be conducted in an open and casual manner, allowing attendees to "think through" the process of the protocols. A number of mini workshops will allow interaction with the protocols.

Questions and postulations are encouraged and all will have opportunity to participate.
