Registrations Rocket in Important Year for PLASA 2012

There has been a massive increase in visitor registration for PLASA 2012 at Earls Court Exhibition Center, September 9-12, 2012. Over 11,000 people have already signed up, representing a whopping 40% increase in registrations so far. Visitors that pre-register now can gain entry to the entire four-day event for only £10 -- a saving of 50% on the full price of £20.

In this unique year for London and the rest of the UK, PLASA is taking the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on the extraordinary contribution made by the lighting and sound industries to the London 2012 Olympics. As PLASA events manager, Sophie Atkinson, comments, "The record breaking surge in pre-registrations for the show this year is enormously encouraging and goes to show that people want to come to PLASA 2012 to reflect on their industry's input in the 2012 Olympic story and experience the unique atmosphere in London."

As always, PLASA 2012 will be the international launch pad for an exciting range of new products, with expectations already running high for new innovations and new product from companies such as Nexo, Martin Audio, Yamaha, and Funktion One. In addition, a brand new audio professional development program is being launched this year, which promises to provide not-to-be-missed content for Europe's audio professionals, as organizers commit to a free four-day program packed with master-classes from some of the biggest international names in system design, production, recording, mixing, and broadcasting.

Another strong focus for the event this year is networking, with a crowded program of co-located events, including 100 free-to-attend training sessions, seminars and specialist conferences, the third two-day PLASA Rigging Conference, the PLASA Fringe Village, the PLASA Awards for Innovation, and the fifth annual Knights of Illumination Awards. Further details of the program will be unveiled in the coming weeks, as Sophie Atkinson explains, "We're working on plans now for our largest Professional Development Program to date which will bring industry issues to life with an emphasis on international projects, a celebration of the Olympics, and a dedicated pro audio stream. With almost 80% of the floor space already booked we're anticipating a phenomenally busy show this year and PLASA 2012 is set to be a very exciting place to be."

For international visitors, PLASA is offering reduced room rates at selected hotels. If you would like to take advantage of this offer then please email to info.na@plasa.org and ask for an application form.
